Quirky Illustration

One of the definitions of quirky is ‘unusual’, but is all illustration that is unusual the same?

Far from it. Some can border on the cute like our illustrator Dee Smith whose whimsical and colourful style lends itself to pre-school novelty books.

However, the quirky work of Irina Bolshakova has a bit more of a picture book look to it. Both quirky, both unusual but nowhere near the same.
